www.musik.uni-mainz.deDer Entwurf des Orgelgehäuses stammt aus der Feder von Herrn Prof. Ulrich Hahn vom namhaften Architekurbüro Hahn und Helten aus Aachen.
Herr Prof. Hahn war in Zusammenarbeit mit Orgelbaumeister Stephan Mayer sehr darauf bedacht, auf der einen Seite die Proportion der Orgel so zu wählen, dass sie das Gleichgewicht der Architektur des Kirchenraumes nicht stört und auf der anderen Seite aber auch die musikalischen und konstruktiven Erfordernisse des Orgelbaus gewahrt werden.
Die neue Orgel besitzt 4 Manuale mit einem Tonumfang von jeweils 58 Noten und einem Pedal, das einen Tonumfang von 32 Noten besitzt.

Prof. Hahn in cooperation with organ builder Stephan Mayer found it very important to choose the organ proportions in a way that they would not disturb the balance of the church interior architecture and would also maintain the musical and design necessities of organ construction.
