After the atrophy of the mesonephros, the upper gubernaculum disappears ( in men ) while in women, the suspensory ligament of ovary is formed, which extends from the upper pole of the ovary towards the back and upwards into the lumbar region.

Das untere Gonadenband inseriert am unteren Pol des Ovars und zieht als Lig. ovarii zum Uterustubenwinkel, wo es sich als Lig. teres uteri fortsetzt ( Siehe mit Definitionen ) Beim Mann verschwindet das obere Gonadenband, während sich aus dem unteren das Gubernaculum testis bildet.
