Sein Nachfolger Graf Friedrich Wilhelm, welcher 1737 starb, hatte an diesem Eisenwerk kein besonderes Interesse, ein Aufscwung erfolgte erst wieder unter Graf Friedrich Alexander, der unter seiner langen Regierung (1737-1791) Gewerbe und Industrie in der ganzen Grafschaft förderte.

Später wurde das Werk Rasselstein an Jacob Balthasar Reichard verpachtet und von diesem ging es über auf Heinrich Wilhelm Remy am 1. Juli 1760.
