Der Gelehrte Isaak Argyros hielt im Jahre 1373 eine Reform trotz der bekannten Ungenauigkeiten nicht für notwendig, da im Jahre 1491 ohnehin der jüngste Tag käme - am 1. September 1491 würde das Jahr 7000 der byzantinischen Weltära beginnen.
