Um die Saatgutbehandlung einem breiten Teil der Saatgutbranche in Indien bekannt zu machen, luden sie Frank-Holm Rögner, Leiter der Abteilung Elektronenstrahl-Prozesse am Fraunhofer FEP, vom 8. – 11. Juni nach Bangalore ein.
Bei rund 500 Zuhörern stieß sein Vortrag »Electron treatment – enhancing safety in food production« auf dem 8.Nationalen Saatgutseminar der indischen Gesellschaft für Saatgut-Technologie auf großes Interesse.
Derzeit erarbeiten die Partner eine Absichtserklärung und Pläne für gemeinsame Forschungsarbeiten, um die Wirksamkeit der Elektronenbehandlung für verschiedene indische Saatgutarten und Bodenverhältnisse zu überprüfen und die Technologie an die klimatischen und wirtschaftlichen Besonderheiten in Indien anzupassen.

An audience of almost 500 people listened with great interest to his presentation »Electron treatment – enhancing safety in food production« at the 8th National Seed Seminar of the Indian Society of Seed Technology.
The partners are currently working on a memorandum of understanding and plans for joint research work to review the efficiency of this electron beam treatment for various types of seeds and soil conditions in India and to adapt the technology to the specific climatic and economic circumstances in India are in place.
