Ausgangssituation Als Inselstaat in der Karibik muss sich Grenada, inklusive seiner Schwesterinseln Carriacou und Petit Martinique, aufgrund des Klimawandels auf eine Zunahme von Extremwetterereignissen, wie Stürmen, Fluten oder Dürren, sowie auf den Anstieg des Meeresspiegels vorbereiten.
Die Verwundbarkeit ist derzeit sehr hoch:
2004 beispielsweise zerstörte Hurrikan Ivan fast 90 Prozent der Wohngebäude sowie Tourismuseinrichtungen und landwirtschaftliche Produktionsflächen.
