Bei der Laaser Marmorbahn handelt es sich um eine Eisenbahnanlage in vier Etappen, die über eine Bremsberg-Konstruktion dazu dient, den Marmor aus dem Göflaner Marmorbruch ( 2200 m Seehöhe ) und dem Weisswasserbruch ( 1555m Seehöhe ) zu Tal zu bringen.

The marble road in Laas is a four-stage railway construction, which uses a brake incline for the transportation of marble from the Geflan Quarry ( 2200 m above sea level ) and the Weisswasser Quarry ( 1555 m above sea level ) to the valley below.

Dort werden die Marmorblöcke 170 m tief auf die Westseite des Laaser Tales per Seilbahn gebracht und dort auf die Wägen der Adhäsions-Schmalspurbahn gelegt und mit einer Akkumulatorenlokomotive 1900 m weit durch den Wald bis zur Bremsberg-Bergstation gezogen.
Hier ist kein Umladen mehr erforderlich, weil der Schmalspurwagen auf die Plattform des Bremsbergschrägwagens geschoben werden kann.

There is no need for any further transshipment of the marble blocks because the wagons of the narrow-gauge railway can easily be pushed onto the platform of the cable railway.
