Im Rahmen der Fusion von Aerospatiale und Matra Hautes Technologies war er für die Verhandlungen mit der Groupe Lagardère verantwortlich.

In der Folge übernahm er die Aufgabe als Generalsekretär im Executive Committee der Aerospatiale-Matra Hautes Technologies .

François Auque, geboren am 1. Juli 1956, ist Mitglied des EADS Executive Committee und Chief Executive Officer von Astrium.

Vor Übernahme dieser Position war François Auque seit 1999 Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ) und Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung von Aerospatiale Matra , einer der drei Gründerfirmen von EADS .

Er war dort zugleich geschäftsführender Direktor des Raumfahrt-Bereichs. François Auque begann seine berufliche Laufbahn 1983 an der Cour des Comptes, dem französischen Rechnungshof.

Ab Anfang 1998 wirkte er als CEO von Matra BAe Dynamics.

Anschließend wurde er zum CEO des 2001 aus Aerospatiale Matra , British Aerospace und Finmeccanica hervorgegangenen europäischen Lenkflugkörperherstellers MBDA ernannt .

In May, he joined Aerospatiale as Vice President Development where he was responsible for negotiating agreements with Groupe Lagardère for the Aerospatiale-Matra Hautes Technologies merger.

He also served as Secretary General of the Aerospatiale-Matra Hautes Technologies committee .

He was then appointed CEO of MBDA , the leading European Missile Systems Company that was created in 2001 by the merging of Aerospatiale Matra , British Aerospace and Finmeccanica ’ s activities .
