- El sistema de calificación que se utiliza en los EE.UU. recibe el nombre de grading system. Este sistema emplea las siguientes letras para expresar las distintas calificaciones: A, B, C, D, E y F. La letra E, sin embargo, no se suele utilizar. La A representa la máxima calificación, mientras que la F (Fail) significa suspenso. Las notas además pueden ir matizadas por un más o un menos. Quien obtiene una A+ es que ha tenido un rendimiento verdaderamente sobresaliente.
